Alex Chapman is a fashion design professor with Houston Community College since 2004. He specializes in American Sportswear, Knits and Swimwear. Having studied in Paris, Alex also graduated with a bachelor’s degree from F.I.T., The Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York. Alex also has won multiple awards from the Air France Design competition, The Museum of Fine Arts “Silver Slipper Award”, and the Brother Cup Design competition in Beijing, China. His interests are Conceptual Art, Mid Century design and Japanese Avant-garde fashion.
Henry Membreño is a local Houston Fine Artist specializing in Painting and Drawing. Henry is owner and principal artist at Henry Membreño Studios. He is a graduate from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City.
After teaching life drawing in NYC, he relocated to Los Angeles to work in television production as well as fashion and wardrobe design for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Since 2006, he has remained in Houston where he currently produces Fine Art with various Art Consulting firms, with pieces shown residentially and commercially throughout the United States.
He has volunteered time as an instructor and has donated artwork to various organizations including Cornerstone Recovery Inc., Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Human Rights Campaign, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Houston.
Jennifer Luque is an interior designer with lauckgroup since 2007 and professor with Houston Community College since 2016. She specializes in corporate design, facilitating construction documentation and construction administration on projects throughout Texas and the United States and teaches technical computer programs for the interior design program at HCC. Jennifer graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Colorado. She is also known for her young adult book series: The Dreamwalker. Her interests include reading, writing and Art History.
Louise Nicholson Carter
With over 35 years of experience, Louise Nicholson Carter is a nationally recognized interior designer and art consultant specializing in healthcare environments. As founding principal at Skyline Art Services, she creates outstanding art programs that integrate with architecture and meet the essential needs of patients and staff to experience healing art. Previously, she was the founding principal of Carter Design Associates, an award-winning healthcare interiors and architectural firm. Louise speaks publicly on the subject of integrating art and interior design in corporate environments and healthcare facilities, from hospitals to senior living. Louise is a founding member of the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID), and is certified in Evidence-Based Design, an emerging field in patient-centered design that is changing the way architects and hospital directors understand the role of art in healthcare.
A graduate from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, Mellanie Perez writes about art, culture, retail, fashion and lifestyle, and now works editorial at Modern Luxury Houston. During her spare time, she is a conceptual fashion photography hobbyist and poet. A native of Bayamón, Puerto Rico, she sashays through life humming salsa songs under her breath and battling with the incessant need to stand up and twirl.
